Re: fasting & energy
Yes, i agree. I like my wholegrain rice and bread, cooked oats ie porridge etc. Fish and meat. The thought of just eating raw vegetables all the time just seems so boring to me.
I don't eat much meat anyway, and people say don't eat fish, because of pollution issues, and this and that, because of other issues, but then you end up not eating anything, and missing out on important food groups, so i for one will carry on eating meat, fish and some cooked grains etc. My parents are in their mid eighties and going strong, they grow most of their own vegetables, but still indulge in a joint of beef and the occassionally peice of fruit cake etc, so the odd not so healthy treat i think is okay too.
As you say, just omitting the salt/sugar laden processed food, is going a long way to improve health.
I'm not into extreme ways of eating. That can bring its own problems. There was a girl on this diet programme who had been a fruitarian, and was skin and bones, and had lots of health problems because of it. Yes exactly. If we are not meant to eat meat, why have we the teeth to eat it. I am more concerned about how animals are reared and slaughtered, for their and my own benefit.
