Re:

ok, I'll try to be nicer.

Christ saw debt-usury as a hook that the moneychangers of Rome used to get the people hooked, to sway them away from their god and into the service of Caesar. The parable about the hook in the fish's mouth being a piece of money in Matthew illustrates. From whom do kings take tribute - their own children, or from strangers ? The answer is: from strangers, which means that the children are free. If you live according to the covenant, then you are not a stranger to god. But a man cannot serve two masters, one has to choose whether their master is caesar, or god. If you are in debt to men, then the compelled perfomance associated with that debt makes you a servant of the men, and being able to not have two masters, you are taken away from god. So, the Romans passage does relate to debt. It's telling you to not have any other than love. Remember proverbs 22:7 ???? The borrower is the slave to the lender. How can you serve god when you are a slave to a lender and it is not possible to have two masters ?

Many "americans" and so-called "Christians borrow tons of money for fancy stuff beyond their means and have been attorned away, easliy because they lack knowledge; Hosea 4:6.
