Re: Mirena IUD side effects and law suit

Just wanted to let you all know, I just had to have my Mirena IUD removed from a fat pad around my ascending colon. Yes, it had perforated my uterus soon after insertion over a year ago and had grown into that pad for the past year. I had surgery last monday and have since contacted an attorney. I'm not sure that I'm going with a class action suit or more on my own against Berlex and the Dr. for his negligence in not following protocol for the one month follow up to check placement after insertion. I contacted Berlex and they stated that it is not a first choice contraception for a nursing mother because of the high risk of uterine perforation, yet I was not told this by the Dr., who still claims this is safe, not did I see it in the pamphlet in the waiting room. I am not at all happy with the whole ordeal, of course, it's been very painful and stressful. I wanted to share this with other women who are having the same problems and for anyone who is considering getting it.
