Re: EXCELLENT ADDITION! Re: The basic CURE for depression!
I'm not sure I totally agree with all you say here Unyquity. I really don't think that 'enlightened' cures like fasting are any more available to most people than enlightened soul searching. I think that mankind is quite self-destructive and actively resists any attempts to remedy that situation in any major way.
As bleak as that sounds though I have a lot of faith in human nature, I just think the challenges and burdens on us as individuals and as a race are more often than not too much for us to accept the added burden of change of any sort, and therefore tend to always choose the devil-you-know status quo. So I don't think that most of Us really want to be self destructive or part of a self destructive civilisation, but we are continually convinced that there is nothing we can really do about it anyway- so why bother?
The trick is to get people to want the change enough to act on that want. There is help out there for individuals who have the energy and opportunity to get out there and find it, places like this. Where we go as a Race for help I don't know, but We first have to all Want the change I think.
I'm not the religious type so I don't believe that change is going to be forced upon us if we don't do it ourselves. I just believe if we can't break out of our rut and make the change ourselves it just won't happen.
