That's a very interesting bug you have there!

"I'd say it can't fly or burrow... I'm thinking it must swim."

I don't have any information on that bug. It's hard to tell if the wings are actual feathers, or clear wings with "veins".


I posted a story awhile back on someone who swam in a lake and got "swimmer's itch". By any chance did you read this post? Are your symptoms the same?

On instinct alone you might be dealing with 2-3 separate parasites. You mentioned earlier in your post about a "hair-like" parasite; there is this wasp/bee thing, and the period parasite.

From what I know about bees and wasps their nesting habits don't involve laying something on humans like other parasitic insects. If this one does -- it would be a first that I've ever heard of!

There are pepper or period-type (.) parasites. I've read many stories about them and they could be identified as a anthropoid that burrows into the skin. If this is the case, then it might follow with you swimming in the lake.
