Day 5
Fasting is certainly getting much easier as the days progress

I have fasted one other time in my life, well I call it anorexia, but it was a fast nonetheless. Anyway…I got so incredibly depressed I became suicidal, all the time. Pretty crazy but it took me many months to stop being anorexic and also many months following that to have a normal level of happiness. I don’t normally consume caffeine at all, but I need to during the fast. Because I never consume caffeine it took me about ½ cup of half-caff coffee yesterday to take me out of depression. It is shocking how prone to depression I am, yesterday I was seriously thinking about quitting my job, and I have never wanted to quit my job before.
So anyway…I will have a tiny amount of caffeine today. I am also going to cut back the amount of juicing I am doing to save money. I will have a good hardy juicing once I get home from work but throughout the rest of the day I will drink refreshing purified water.
This coming weekend will be my first weekend fasting and I’ll be glad for the support of another faster, Scott. We will be going to a huge wedding anniversary on Sunday. There will be a lot of tempting food, I’m sure.
Well as the fast goes on I have to make sure that I have a solid game plan for coming out of the fast. I will stop the fast immediately if I hit 100 lbs. Account for about 5-10 lbs of water gain that would put me in a very healthy weight for a 5’1” female. I am also going to start working out in the morning, making sure I do nothing to elevate my heart rate above 130. And after the fast I want to start training to become a more serious cyclist. While training for my century I found out that I am very good at cycling and I am very serious about wanting to get competitive. By myself I average around 17.5mph and with a group I can go much faster. Anyway…enough about that.
Good luck fellow fasters.
