Finished up the 100 Mile Bike Ride Around Lake Tahoe

I am finally done with my century. I have to say…to any of those people out there that have never completed an endurance event…you are missing out on an incredibly fulfilling experience. Because this blog is about fasting I won’t go into great detail about my century but I will say that it was incredible to finish this race and I look forward to doing more in the future.
Back to fasting…you wouldn’t believe all the crap that you have to eat to keep you going throughout an endurance event (and to allow you to recover as quickly as possible). I’ve been training and eating this stuff all season and I still had a stomach ache for a day after the event. I will be glad to really get all that stuff out of my system.
Now that I don’t have to constantly eat to replace used glycogen, I can really prepare for my fast. So today, I am fasting on water until dinner and will have a light dinner. I can’t completely prepare for the fast because I am still recovering from being on my bike for 8 hours. I do feel great considering, no soreness or physical complaints at all, I mostly just feel like I need more sleep than usual.
Well until tomorrow.
