(1)What is the Plan? I will be juice fasting for 40 days. I plan on drinking at least 3 juice concoctions per day and possibly upwards of 5 (if needed). Besides the juice I plan on doing a salt water flush every day in the first week, every other day for the 2nd week, every 3rd day for the 3rd week, etc.
(2)When Will I Start? I want to start after I come back from Yosemite which is the 14th of June. I will start the 15th. After I ride my century this weekend I hope to receive my juicer sometime during the week. From that point I will start the pre-fast. I will try out various juice concoctions all while eating much less. If I feel the need I will eat fruit, vegetables and light grains. I will have to eat more substantial foods while in Yosemite so that I can hike around all day without bonking. Oh well…it will be what it is.
(3)When will it End? After 40 days or if I reach 108 lbs. I don’t want to lose too much weight and become unhealthy. From what I have read, the average weight loss due to water is around 8 lbs. Considering that and taking in to account that I should be using around .5 lb of body fat per day to function it could take me less than 40 days to reach 108. I will monitor my weight daily to make sure that I don’t reach an extremely low level.
