Notes to myself on how best to prepare (for next time!)...
Next time aiming for 28 - 35 days.....

***Plant parsley now! This afternoon - so it will be ready for the next fast. (Also good for pepping up familys meals from the freezer.)
***Get inspired!...

***No caffeine, sugar, dairy or wheat in 2 weeks leading up to fast. (Don't intend to eat any of those things between this fast and the next one anyway so it shouldn't be an issue next time).
***Prepare as many family meals for the freezer as possible in week leading up to the fast. Also baby food...and possibly baking for playgroup? 15 meals should take a LOT of stress off. Other night DH can cook simple, or on days when I'm feeling strong I can be chief cook. Do NOT plan to cook, or go out for any meals or appointments, playgroup etc. in the first 5 days. (Don't need the extra stress!)
***Try and find a source for organic celery. (I used a ton of celery this and previous fasts and I haven't seen it organic yet - perhaps it's difficult to grow organic? There's a challenge...grow some myself??)
***Make sure I have supplies of unrefined sea salt (used Kaiora Organic this time. Worked well), epsom salts and lavendar oil for bath, psyllium and bentonite.
***Make 1 batch of broth for the freezer for use in emergencies.
My basic recipe, for 3 cups of broth (enough to see me through the average day).
1/2 a swede, 2 onions, 3 cloves garlic, 4 large stalks of celery including greens, 1 litre water. Wash everything well, peel onions & garlic and chop roughly, break or chop celery and add to a pot with the water. Veges usually come up over top of water. Optional additions for extra flavour or for 'cold feet and hands days': chunk of ginger root, pepper corns, piece of fresh chilli, any fresh herbs - oregano works for me. Bring to boil and simmer at least 1 1/2 hours. Strain, drink some hot and store the rest in a covered glass container in the fridge to be reheated as needed.
Makes a well flavoured and satisfying broth.
***Make plenty of ice. (At least one time per day I sit down and sip a juice more slowly with ice in it...don't know if it's good for the enzymes but it's good for my sense of wellbeing!)
***Check my post http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=617&i=7 to remind me of my rough schedule. On extra 'hungry', or tough days an extra 9pm juice worked...for some reason I craved carrot in the late evening - found it very soothing and just right for before bed.
This CAN be done with two babies and a 3 year old, and a (very helpful bless him) DH to cook and care for!
