Day 5, Feb 23rd.
Cluster juicing...works for me!

I've had some joint pains and a general all over flu/fatigue feeling today. Must be detoxing....coffee maybe? I've also got this disgusting stuff all over my tongue and I can't seem to get my teeth clean. Nice!! :oP I remember the tongue thing from previous fasts. I wonder how long you need to fast until the tongue is clear. I'd really love to be able to do a long enough fast to achieve that one day.
I should mention, that apart from the first night (when hunger kept me awake a while and I finally ended getting up about 11pm to make an extra juice), I have been sleeping really soundly and well.
Today I dry skin brushed before my shower. That's supposed to help with toxin elimination...I think it stimulates the lymph system. (At the moment I feel like I need a half dozen showers a day....about a quarter the number of times my teeth need brushing!)
I thought I'd make a post with my daily juicing schedule. Today I'm finally feeling organised, and in a kind of rhythym with it all. (This will help me if I refer back to my blog before starting future fasts! I kind of leapt into this one with not much planning!)
This is what's working for me at the moment:
- 7.30am - 8.30am. Hot water and lemon first thing, 15mls Floradix, then at least 4 tall glasses of water so as to be hydrated before the salt water flush (*today is the first day I've done the swf in the am.).
- 8.30am SWF - a further 4 cups of water and all that salt (1 Tbsp unrefined sea salt).
- 9.00am 7oz juice. Ginger, parsley, apple and celery is my favourite "breakfast" juice.
Prep veges for late morning and "lunch" juices.
(9.30am - 10.30am Salt water flush is taking effect! Keep bathroom vacant and close by!)
- 10.30am 7oz vege juice (garlic/spinach/carrot or baby beet/cabbage/cucumber), then 2 tsp psyllium hulls & 15mls bentonite in water.
- 12.30pm 1 tsp Omega 3 fish oil chased by 7oz vege & ginger juice. Put potassium broth on to cook.
- 2.30pm Cup of hot broth.
- 3.00pm 7oz juice. Similar to breakfast juice - usually apple and vege mixed. Psyllium in water.
Prep veges for evening juices.
- 4.30pm Cup of hot broth.
- 5.00pm 7 oz vege juice.
- 6.00pm 7 oz vege juice. Last cup of hot broth (while family are eating dinner!)
- 7.00pm 7 oz vege, or apple and vege juice.
- 8.00pm chamomile or sleepytime tea.
- 9.00pm psyllium and bentonite.
At least 6 large glasses of water throughout the day in addition.
NB My cluster juicing & broth drinking in the late afternoon/early evening is what gets me through the busy family dinner time and kids bedtime. It's my most likely time of the day to crash so I try to drink juice before I feel I even need to.
Today's high point: Harvesting 6 lbs of crabapples from our tree! Now....umm....what to do with them all!(Fiddly little buggers.)
Today's low point: Not being able to get my teeth feeling clean! Any hints gratefully received....
