Day 6, Feb 24th.
Crazy, crazy, crazy to be dealing with food cravings and not to be able to escape the bloody kitchen all day.

This update is a bit late. Yesterday was super-busy. Everytime I handled food It wasn't without strong yearnings! Last night I cooked a roast chicken for the family and I even went down this mental negotiating track with myself that maybe it would be ok to make and drink some chicken broth later that evening...
When I say "everytime I handled food"...well that would be breakfast for the 3 children, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for them all, then dinner for everyone. (2 dinner times...the twins a bit before 5pm, then DH and Kate a bit after 6.) Crazy, crazy, crazy to be dealing with food cravings and not to be able to escape the bloody kitchen all day. Feeling a bit down that I can't go and do this at a retreat somewhere!
One satisfying thing did come out of the kitchen in the afternoon! Kate and I cut up a HEAP of crabapples. Grandma's going to make them into jelly for us. The rest I'm juicing...especially good with pear, and I've put mint in too the last couple of times, just a couple of leaves.
I've been feeling really cold, my hands and feet especially. Several times I went and got into bed with the electric blanket on. DH suggested a hot ginger drink (steeping chopped ginger root in just boiled water) in the evening and he even made it for me and brought it into me in bed. (A nice touch of the retreat life for me there for a half hour!)
I considered taking a bath too. People take epsom salt baths....might find out a bit more about that....
I had an extra vegetable juice just before bed too. Still went to bed dreaming about roast chicken but I was damned if I was going to do it on an empty tank!!
Looking forward to the weekend...some child-free time to pamper myself a bit???
