I just wanted to let you all you what it's like after the fast for me. After the cleansing experience of the fast I decided "I want to be in control of my life, damnit!!" because there is already too much we can't control!

I decided I was going to eat healthy, and avoid meats and dairy. Well, 7 days later, I'm eating 90% non dairy and meat free except skinless grilled chicken and fish of course! Also, I'm committed to eating 5 small meals a day. I'm loving a little cereal with fruit, or oatmeal with fruit for breakfast. I'm loving soy milk and protein drinks. I'm loving my spinich salads, almonds, celery and apples with organic peanut butter, and drinking tons of water! Shopping at the produce market is so fun now: I bought a pumpkin last night and can't wait to carve it this weekend and bake the pumpkin seeds!!!

Coupled with my diet, I'm also still dedicated to exercise 1 hour 5 days a week, whether it be cardio on a bike or treadmill, kickboxing class, or yoga. All in all, I don't feel guilty after I eat now. Knowing that I just ingested something healthy is a good feeling. Happily I'm maintaing my weight, but don't think I'm gonna stop here.

Basically I've learned you have to do more than WISH you were thinner, or healthier. You have to dedicate the TIME to DIET and EXERCISE. Make a committment to do any cardio exercise 3-5 times a week. CHOOSE to just TRY 5 small meals a day. You are in control and YOU have the power. I personally couldn't walk the treadmill for 30 min 3 months ago. Today I can do a kick boxing class for 1 hour with just 1 water break. Rememeber, Rome wasn't built in a day. So be inspired!!!
