Hi. I have a big problem with the smell of my shoes. I'll start from the beginning. 3 years ago I suddenly felt the stench of shoes. I thought it was athlete's foot, so I used clotrimazolum and tebinafine. It helped for a while. Later I had recurrences of this smell, but my new shoes lasted for several months. In the meantime, I used a lot of foot preparations such as powders, chlohexidine, antibacterial soaps, deodorants and antiperspirants, and formalin. After all these treatments, my shoes inside have a nice smell, my feet do not smell either. Only when I put my shoes on it starts to emit a strange smell. Reminiscent of neglected, musty socks. This is very strange because after taking off the shoes the smell disappears. I emphasize that the stench spreads throughout the room. It disturbs my life a lot, office associates also complain about this smell. New shoes start to smell 3 hours after putting them on. I know it's very strange. I have seen many doctors but they don't know the cause of my problem. Of course, I regularly change and disinfect my shoes, but it helps for a maximum of an hour. It is very strange that the smell is emitted from the shoes to the outside. The inside of the shoes smells better than the room in which I am sitting. The smell appears regardless of the type of footwear, I usually wear good leather shoes. I think I caught some fungus or bacteria that is resistant to everything. Only I don't have any marks on my feet or boots. My feet are sweating on average. I have no hyperhidrosis. Of course, all blood and hormone tests are ok. Please help me because I don't know how to live with it.

CALLING ALL HEALERS - Extremely tight feet/ High Arch/ Severe hammer toes - Please help
Hello everybody.. I am seeking desperate help for my knees, ankles, feet and toes. They appear extremely tight and slightly deformed. I would assume that this stemmed from wearing extremely tight footwear as a kid and also with the countless amount of ankle injuries I have suffered. I have been casted on my left ankle from a skateboarding accident when I was a teen and had no real physical therapy afterwards. I have very limited range of motion as far as dorsiflexion. Can barely move my toes unless if I'm stepping on something hard thats penetrating directly into the center of my foot which HURTS like a mofo (like a wooden foot roller). The fascia underneath my feet is very hard and tough (thick) and it seems that this is why my toes curl. I do not know where the main issue is stemming from - my knees? ankles? hips? calves? tendons?
I have been to a professional Rolfer before which he was stumped and wasn't really sure how to handle it. I've had an herbalist tell me I needed deep foot bodywork consistently and I've had many conventional doctors just tell me it was fine as long as it wasn't hurting me that I would be fine and that if I wanted surgery that that would be optimal if pain proceeds. The thing is.. I am not in pain - it's just extremely tight, uncomfortable and ugly looking and I want to fix it. And I haven't met any person yet that can guide me in the right direction. I don't think the bones are set in place because I can, with some force, bend them to look normal. I can sit in a full lotus which means I have some degree of flexibility in them but still... dorsiflexion is almost impossible. I can't even extend my toes without will of force.
The ankle portion (lateral malleolus) always appears to be swollen - from the time I actually injured it, and the swelling never seems to fully go down. I was reading in this book "Back to Eden" that this man with swollen feet and ankles did contrast bathing (alternating hot, cold water) tried that immediately by following through with soaking his feet in kerosene and the swelling reducing to almost noting afterwards. I tried researching this method and couldn't find anything on it.
Honestly, I am willing to try anything. Even if somebody wanted to re-break the bone so that it may heal properly. What I have been doing which brings about momentary positive change is wearing these rubber toe correctors (which starts to hurt after 5 + hours of wearing them), using the wooden foot roller, doing deep work on my calves and behind my knee, burying my feet in the sand, certain yoga postures and foam rolling. I have never seen anybody with feet like mine - they just look like prehistoric monkey feet and I honestly just want to love them. Can anybody please help me or recommend somebody who might be able to?

Socks: Try merino wool socks or other very good DRYWICKING socks. Always wash at 60 degrees!!
Shoes: geox, or make sure it’s breathable shoes like leather
Insoles: Cedar wooden soles
Then ask yourself if this is a bacterial overgrowth, fungus or sweat problem. Best to always check with a dermatologist!!
Bacterial overgrowth: You can check if fucidin lotion (note it’s a medicine, don’t overuse) can help you. Sometimes anti Acne lotion can help such as clindamycine or benzac 10% . The bacterias causing zits can sometimes be same bacetrias causing smell. Do please check a dermatologist before proceeding with these lotions
Fungus: check for topical antifungus like clotrimazole . Again, check with dermatologist.
Sweat: Apply strong anti perpirant (15–20% aluminium chloride), iontophoresis with glycopyronium bromide, surgery only if you have plantar hyperhidrosis (lumbar sympathetomy)

A friend in Sydney recently had parasites confirmed and treated at the Centre for Digestive Diseases (Dr Thomas Borody) who has linked Dientamoeba fragilis (D.fragilis) and Blastocystis hominis (Blastocystis) to IBS and is treating with a compound of three Antibiotics . I have sent three samples in fixative to the pathology lab the CDD use (Histopath) and my doctor has also ordered calproctecin, faecal occult blood, parasite and some other tests. I should have some results next week (March 2018).
While I wait, I thought I'd upload my stories and photos and hope to be able to share a diagnosis and treatment next week. This forum has been really helpful and I thought I'd contribute too.
After sending off my stool samples I convinced myself I had parasites (something I'd never really considered) and started taking oregano oil (doterra brand).
Saturday I did a coffee enema - this was the result.
The next day I took polyprep (colon cleanse usually for colonoscopy prep, but I'd read it was good for evacuating any parasites that were hiding in pockets). Lots of ‘undigested food' came out - way more than usual. There's so much going on in the pic, I'm not sure what I'm looking at. (I had nuts 48 hours ago and tomatoes and eggplants yesterday).
Some rinsed 'things' from stool. I used to always think this was all just undigested food. Maybe it's parasites/flukes?
I'm not sure what's related so started to question everything. For at least five years (possibly as long as my IBS symptoms) I've had dry skin on my right foot (top in photo). I've tried treating it to no avail. I now just buff and moisturise it every day. It's never spread to the other foot. (I buffed and moisturised that foot an hour ago and have had plenty of water).
I've had this mark on my arm shaped like an 8cm worm for a week, around the same time I starting oregano oil in water to kill parasites. Related or just an insect bite?

I have had IBS symptoms for 10 years - mostly IBS-C, but sometimes D.
I have travelled extensively through Europe and Asia and eaten plenty of street food. I have Bali belly in 1997 and two serious bouts of food poisoning in Brisbane (unrelated) around 2000-2001, gastro a few years ago.
I've tried low salicylate, gluten free, low dose anti-anxiety (as my symptoms are probably all in my head (!!!???), juice cleanses, colonics, naturopathic treatments and diets. Often I'm better for a while, but then the symptoms return.
I have had tests for fructose and lactose malabsorption, seen a number of gastroenterologists and a dietitian. The general consensus for my symptoms are: stress, overly sensitive, prone to food intolerances , busy life. Doctors didn't (wouldn't) test me for parasites as haven't had extensive weight loss and am not under weight (my BMI is 25.7 - just over the healthy range).
Hopefully I'll have some results to share next week!

Weird donut-shaped pus on sole of foot
Does anyone know what this is called? It seems to be pus around a dark indention. There is a quarter-sized area of swelling around the pus. It hurts if i push on it, and walking is painful. This developed over the past week and a half. I think this began with me stepping on a sharp pebble, and i did not notice it breaking the skin. I looked up wart, corn, abscess, infection, etc, and I could not find any images to match this. If you know what it is, how do i treat it? I have tea tree oil on it currently. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Mederma or other scar reduction meds for callus reduction?
I have painful calluses that just keep regenerating rapidly. I am finding myself having to use a sharp razor edge rasp once to twice a week on the back edges of my heals. Skin peals and other things are nice, but only last about 1 to 2 weeks and then it's all back again.
Has anyone tried Mederma, Kelo Cote or something that is designed for scar reduction or removal to treat problem callus areas?
I once had a thick callus and a doctor injected it with a steroid and now that patch of skin is the flattest and softest skin on my entire body. I'm wondering if there are other options for callus areas that would help to reduce their thickness and pain on either a long term or permanent basis. -

All meals have to be finished early in the evening otherwise I am making his dysbiosis worse. This way it is pretty much kept under control to a certain extent. Athletes Foot - Cured
I did have athletes foot between almost every toe on both feet and nothing helped. I tried the common over the counter creams from the chemist but they did nothing.
Then I tried lugols iodine in a small finger pump spray bottle. Washed my feet and sprayed between my toes once per day and let it dry before putting on clean socks. It cleared it pretty quickly in about a week and has not returned in the last year.
I did use lugols 3% as that is all that I had at the time. It stains and you do need to be careful that it does not go anywhere it shouldn't such as carpet etc. I have since got some potassium iodide crystals which is clear and so would not stain. I do not know whether it would work as well but it might be worth a try before resorting to lugols.
