NSAID stands for nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. NSAID represent a group of drugs used to treat arthritis because they provide pain killing properties (analgesic), anti-inflammatory properties and fever-reducing (antipyretic) properties.
Some of the more common NSAIDs used to fight arthritis pain without a prescription include aspirin, Ibuprofen and Naproxen. These are mostly used at OTC remedies for ridding arthritis pain. So how do NSAIDs work?

Live Without Gout
Approximately 1 million Americans are afflicted with the excruciating pain caused by gout. Without immediate attention, an attack can last days or weeks, so it’s not surprising that gout sufferers welcome any method or remedy that halts gout for good.
Gout is best controlled with correct lifestyle habits, careful eating and anti-inflammatory nutrients.
Gout is a type of arthritis caused by excessive amounts of uric acid in the blood that usually settles and crystallizes in the big toe, though other joints and organs can be affected. The characteristic redness, swel ...

You could do cherry juice, that works too.
Here’s an excerpt from another extensive write-up on gout:
Cherries
If you are lucky enough to have fresh cherries, eating 6-8 cherries daily will relieve the symptoms of gout. This remedy was reported in 1950 by Dr. Ludwig W. Blau who cured his own gout. Frozen and canned cherries may also be used. When you feel an attack coming on, eat 20-30 cherries immediately. Cherries are rich in compounds that prevent the destruction of collagen, which the body uses to form connective tissue. The connective tissue is damaged by gout. Cherries also ha ...

Gout is a common type of arthritis that occurs when an excessive amount of uric acid in the blood, tissues and urine crystallizes in the joints. People who have gout are unable to break down and excrete uric acid, a byproduct of digesting certain foods. It usually comes on suddenly, and can last from a few hours to several days. It can cause extremely sore toes or other areas of the foot, and because it frequently manifests itself in the big toe, it is also known as ”gouty big toe”. Another name is ”gouty arthritis”. Gout can also appear in an ear, heel of the hand, small hand joints ...

There are over hundred types of arthritis conditions and Gout is the most painful among them. Generally people above 50 years of age are affected most, especially men whereas it is a rare occurrence in women. Some women may develop Gout after menopause. This is considered as a chronic disease that occurs due to the deposition of needle like crystals of uric acid in the joints leading to swelling and inflammation causing acute pain. Being one of the most frequently recorded illnesses, Gout is also a genetically inherited disease. This painful condition demands thorough treatment to pr ...

What is Gout?
Gout is very common painful form of arthritis. Arthritis is simply a inflammation or intense pain in a joint.
How Does Gout Occur?
Uric acid (urate) is a normal substance to have in the bloodstream. It comes from the breakdown of substances called purines. About 14% of the uric acid in the bloodstream comes from the breakdown of purines in food that is eaten, but 86% of uric acid comes from the breakdown of purines which occur naturally in cells in the body. When levels of uric acid begin to build up, the kidneys usually remov ...

Hi,
I’ve been diagnosed with gout- I’m female 62 too fat and have a family history of gout, so no surprise.
It got my left big toe, my right index finger (looked like a bone infection, but wasn’t) now it’s working over my left hand. I had knee swelling, a few years ago, and I painted it with iodine, which worked. Someone on this forum walked me though it, I thought it could have been a blood clot, but now I think it was gout.
I tried painting my left hand, tonight was my second treatment, and the results are wonderful. The joint at the base of my left index finger has been very swo ...

Yes to both, Cherry juice does help, but you have to chug a whole bottle of it to get much good, (which I’ve done before I got my diet under control) and then you get the runs pretty badly. I do drink it, but it’s not all that effective. Biggest change for me was eliminating baked goods- yeast sets it off for me. Gout occurs in the spring- to you get the spring weather change and swell up, which sucks. Right now, thanks to the iodine, I’m typing with both hands, although this morning my left hand just didn’t move. I had very good luck with iodine in the past, got rid of Fibrocystic BD ...

I started getting gout a few years ago. It was most likely caused by diuretics prescribed for blood pressure. The first few times I got it I tried tart cherry juice and it worked very well, but the last couple of times it didn’t seem to have any effect. I ran across a website called icuredmygout.org and tried the baking soda treatment. It worked. There are some other remedies there too. While traditional thinking is that certain foods cause gout, recent research, however, indicates that lead poisoning may be another possible cause. The lead poisoning makes the aldosterone system insensitive to potassium concentration and increases the potassium content of the blood. A potassium deficiency can increase urate levels in the blood. Aldosterone is a hormone secreted by the adrenal cortex (part of the adrenal gland) that is important in the control of blood pressure and the regulation of sodium and potassium concentration. It would be very interesting for us to know how many pe ...

Devils claw, Poke root, Sarsaparilla root, Mustard seed and Celery seed.
Heres why:
A buildup of uric acid causes gout
Devils claw to relieve joint pain and reduce uric acid levels
Celery seed extract to stimulate elimination of uric acid and lower the uric acid level.
Sarsaparilla Root for rheumatism and gout
Poke root for acute and chronic gout
Mustard seed extract eases pain of gout and aching joints
As a combination it will work great, but many people experience good results just from taking the Celery seed extract by itself

Perhaps it is the sodium part that creates unease. Of course you can use potassium bicarbonate (difficult to find, use a 1/2 the dose of sodium bicarb - upset my stomach) perhaps the best is magnesium bicarbonate - this is very difficult to find but tried making it using magnesium carbonate dropped in soda water.
I know quite a few people who used sodium bicarbonate without issues (some took potassium to counteract the sodium) - brother used it for gout which resolved pretty quickly. Ted of EarthClinic has excellent information http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/alkalizing_formulas.html

Also known as Gout (metabolic arthritis) is a disease created by a buildup of uric acid. In this condition, crystals of monosodium urate or uric acid are deposited on the articular cartilage of joints, tendons and surrounding tissues. These crystals cause inflammation and pain, both severe. If untreated, the crystals form tophi, which can cause significant tissue damage. Gout results from a combination of elevated concentrations of uric acid and overall acidity in the bloodstream. In isolation, neither elevated uric acid (hyperuricemia) nor acidity is normally sufficient to cause gout.

I know someone who had gout. They woke up in the middle of the night with severe pain. It’s funny how the pain came on in the middle of the night and no other time. What this will do over time is exhaust the one suffering because adrenaline requires five straight hours of uninterrupted sleep in order for it to be replenished. Disturbed sleep cycles may affect hormone production too. The body is busy at night with operations reserved for when it is fully at rest.
Gout may be a way the body ’stores’ toxins much like the way a squirrel buries acorns to be retrieved at a later time. So it i ...

Definately need to have your uric acid levels checked. There’s a good chance that you might be developing gout especially if your candida diet was high in protein and legumes, and if you have a history of kidney problems, or even high blood pressure and are taking any meds for it. Gout is usually most common in men but women can develope it, too, under the right circumstances. If you find out that that is the case, there’s also an eating plan for gout.

The trouble with gout is that there is years of uric acid accumulation in the blood without any warning or symptoms until an attack is triggered by some precipitating factor like liver congestion, kidney compromise, alcoholism or protein metabolization problems. When your liver becomes inflamed or is stressed, uric acid production can increase to very high levels, setting the stage for the development of gout . Gluten from wheat, barley and rye grains are complex proteins that compromise the gut and ultimately inflame the liver. High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is metabolized almost exc ...
