Lugols, and gout?
Hi,
I've been diagnosed with gout- I'm female 62 too fat and have a family history of gout, so no surprise.
It got my left big toe, my right index finger (looked like a bone infection, but wasn't) now it's working over my left hand. I had knee swelling, a few years ago, and I painted it with iodine, which worked. Someone on this forum walked me though it, I thought it could have been a blood clot, but now I think it was gout.
I tried painting my left hand, tonight was my second treatment, and the results are wonderful. The joint at the base of my left index finger has been very swollen and painful, swelling is down, I've gotten a couple of nights sleep, and my fingers are not as numb. It's hard to describe what gout feels like, maybe think about needles in your joints that are on fire, and that comes close.
When you have it, you begin to favor the joint because it hurts so much to move it, but the less you use the joint, the worse it gets. (I haven't been able to type with ten fingers for about a month, but tonight, here it am doing it!)
According to Wikipedia,
Lugols was used as a first line treatment for gout from 1830 on, i wonder why it isn't used now?
I hope this helps someone somewhere. I did about a year on the
Iodine protocol, and i already knew that a lot of
Iodine wasn't going to hurt me at all. I am taking boron, selenium, vit C which all seem to help with what the
Iodine stirs up, if you decide to try this remedy, do it carefully and slowly.
