Re: Lugols, and gout?

Hi, Julie,

Bless your heart! I do understand how you feel with the gout. I'm a 62-year-old female and have gout as well. I'm high risk because my maternal grandmother had it. Also I am overweight and trying to lose, which I think I desperately need the Iodine to do so. Have tried to lose it and can't seem to. Except back about 2 months ago, my husband and I were sick with some kind of virus for over a week, and I lost 15 pounds. Since that time I have started doing the healthy salt and water which I found out about over at watercures.org. After that is when I found out about the iodine, then read Lynne Farrow's book on the Iodine Crisis (excellent book!)

Foods are so weird with people that have gout. What I have found out is, is that some foods that affect another person with gout, then do not affect me at all. But I limit my meat, and I love beef. It's been hard for me. I limit my beef when I eat it. Used to if I would go out to eat Mexican food, then I would want to have a beer with it. I haven't tried it, but that might make me sick. Might not.

So far I am feeling okay, but I am sure glad that I found out about painting the Iodine on a gout area. I may try this even though it's not hurting right now. It is horribly painful. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
