Re: Lugols, and gout?

One more thing about gout. It's been found out how dangerous iron is in causing inflammation in our bodies. When we reach a certain age, we just don't need much iron at all. Unless one is anemic, of course, then you work with your doctor on it. Most of us have a lot of stored iron in our livers. So it's been found out that more people have an excess. You can study excess iron, iron overload and see the problems. I know a couple of years ago in the Lancet, some doctor did bloodletting on a couple of men that had gout and no medicine was helping them at all. Well, he took them down to right above anemic, and it cured their gout symptoms. I don't know if it did it permanently, but they were able to get off the medication, which it wasn't working anyway. So some people with gout give blood. I did for a while until my spinal stenosis and sciatic pain flared up. I probably need to again.

It's been a while since I researched this iron overload problem. But iron is added to all of our foods, just about, when they started adding it to foods for young women and children. However, it's hurting everyone that doesn't need it. And take cereals, for example, it may say 45% iron, but it could be tons higher than it says. It's crazy!
