Re: o/t geography
Lake Macatawa used to be known as the Black River!! That tell you anything LOL. What are your thoughts on my plan of action regarding the water??
I too have looked up the Hauenstein Parkinson's Clinic in Grand Rapids. I know that once he goes though we'll be on a one way street as far as treatment goes.
I did make an appt. last Oct. with an alternative Dr. in Zeeland. He ran a bunch of tests on him, put him on a candida treatment, chelation therapy etc. We normally leave for Fl. the first of Nov. but delayed for his treatments. I might also add that his test results for toxic metals were confusing to me.He has 3 different tests results here and in all three the area for aluminum is completely blank. I find that hard to believe. He eats tums every night. I'm not sure how the tests work but his first one shows different metals in the "within reference range" with nickel and arsenic (I had nothing to do with this really)! showing to be the "highest". On the bottome of the test page it says pre provocative. On second test which says "post provocative" this is where everything seemed to get much higher. Was that from the chelation? On the third test "post" also .....some subsided a bit and some increased in elevation.Ok now that I look at it the second test was "DMPS" and the third was "EDTA". The third does show some aluminum but in the "within reference range". We returned from FL. the end of May. I have not encouraged him to go back to the Dr. for a numbers of reasons. First of all from what I've read I don't know if he should be having chelation therapy with a mouthful of
Amalgam fillings. Second, although he is an alternative Dr. I don't think he endorses cleanses or flushes. Thirdly, he treated Mohammad Ali. I'm not sure how long but it was prior to his lighting the torch during the olympics. He said he had a positive reaction with the glutithione treatments but I didn't ask if he was still treating him. As excited as I was to find him initially, I came to regard him as too passive for my tastes.
If I sound like this is all about me... please understand my husband would not even be entertaining thoughts of this nature if I wasn't pleading with him to do so. It actually is much easier in many respects to go to a Dr. and get a script then hope to hell it works at some point in time. He absolutely will not do any research on this topic......... HE IS SCARED TO DEATH.It freaks him out just talking about it.
The alternative Dr. did recommend a book "The Better Brain Book" by Dr. David Perlmutter. Excellent book! My friend from Grand Haven, I highly recommend this if you havn't already read it. I ordered all the supplements he recommends to protect the brain from dementia... DHA, CoQ10, vit E, vit C, Alpha lipoic Acid, N-Acetyl-Cysteine, Phosphatidylserine, Acetyl-L-carnitine, Gingko Biloba, Vit D, and Vit B complex. I did make an appt with this Dr. who has a practice in Naples Fl. My husband thought about it then decided he didn't want to drive that far(5 hours one way). I could have choked him to death as Dr. Perlmutter is a certified neurologist and a leader in the field of complementary medicine.
At this point I figured why should I do all this research only to have him embrace it half-heartedly. I gave up for a short time and am now back at it. I love him and I want him healthy. He lost his oldest son in Dec. and this has been hell on him. I'm lucky he gets out of bed every day.
I'm so thankful to anyone and everyone who has taken an interest in this post. I am obviously not alone in this quest although there have been times when I have felt like it. I'm feeling very encouraged at the moment.
Bless each and every one of you.
Suz
