OPINION ~ Some scrutiny...Re: Halide Balance?

Perhaps the reason you don't hear any scrutiny, is because it's really tough for some folks to 'speak aloud' when they feel they're disagreeing with someone like V that's such a "forum force" (? don't know the exact right word/phrase). I know I've got more "call it like you see it hutzpah" than most folks, and I'm certainly uncomfortable writing this (or disagreeing in any way with just about anything, anymore). And if Unyquity doesn't feel comfortable in "scrutinizing", well, you can bet that there's quite a few others than don't.

I'll scrutinize...I think it's certainly possible to "OD" on Iodine (it's possible to 'OD' on ANYthing), and from what I've read of V's dosing, if it's going to happen, he'd be a candidate.

I think that a theory based on feeling rough for a couple of days and feeling better after taking some kind of a bromine supplement - without addressing ALL possible variants, is not even a "theory" at all, it's just an anecdotal story.

I don't think our bromine levels or bromine sufficiency is something we need to worry about.

However, if you do a search on "bromine deficiency", you will see some evidence that some say it's possible.

I think that consistently 'trusting' in only the published research/clincial trials of allopathic researchers & MD's is downright stupid.

One of the biggest concerns I've had (since before the beginnings of this forum) is that our researching physicians are MD's and were trained by the allopathic system. While this doesn't invalidate the techincal research, bodily necessity or healing powers of iodine, it certainly leaves a lot of 'holes' for those of us that understand total body health. It's the Breast Cancer folks that came up with the supplemental protocol - as far as I've ever read, all I've ever seen from the researching docs are statements like 'a sound nutritional program, emphasis on magnesium'...and that (in my estimation) falls WAY short of what's needed with supplementing anything more than a few milligrams of Iodine daily. Not to mention (that just like typical "drug researchers" and allopathic physicians) we see virtually NOTHING about the percentages of people that weren't healed of whatever they were seeking healing for, how many/which pharmaceuticals were prescribed along with the Iodine to 'cover up' adverse reactions (?), what WERE the adverse reactions, and data to explain the reasons for all of the above. Afterall, this IS about the only forum on Curezone whose 'basic backbone' is the research and clinical trials of allopathic MDs. I'm NOT saying the research isn't valid, but I am saying that research on any given drug/substance by allopathic MD's needs VERY careful scrutiny. (We hear all the time how 'this new drug' or 'that new protocol' "cures" various stuff...but what we don't hear is the 'other side' of their "successful" trials and research - the deaths, the adverse reactions and side-effects of those that weren't included in the trial/research data, the very real possibilities and effects of taking something FAR longer/higher doses than the trial/research doses and lengths. I don't like these 'holes' (maybe pitfalls?), and I don't feel they've been adequately addressed.

Bromine deficiency due to too much iodine? Sheesh, you'd practically have to 'live in a bubble' to not get some form of bromine daily...or take enough iodine to push it totally out of your body. Living in a bubble isn't really possible, and taking too much iodine and then needing to supplement bromide is a MAJOR ERROR (to me) that should/can be avoided entirely. (Of course, V -and anybody else- certainly has a right to do with they want with their own body, and comment on whatever they see fit to comment upon in open discussion). But for the 'average' human, taking way too much iodine (if there really is such a thing) or becoming 'bromine void' just isn't going to happen. To me, bringing up bromine deficiency (when there's virtually NOone on this forum that has any intention of dosing high enough to get to that point, or can avoid bromine in the environment)..is a very confusing (and frightening) concept that's virtually assures some level of fear, frustration and confusion for the average person. This whole 'iodine thing'(in my opinion) has become FAR too complicated, frustrating (and if my email box is any indication), full of anxiety and fear of doing the wrong thing...not taking the right blend of supporting supplements, taking too much, taking too little, figuring out which of all the "supporting-supporting supplements" are necessary,(Zeta water, niacin flushing, IP6, etc., etc.,) - and this kind of stress/fear is just NOT necessary (and can/could be EXTREMELY counterproductive).

How many times have we read: "I've been through the archives and I'm SO confused/scared/hesitant; this is ALL so confusing." ??? So now 'bromine deficiency' has been added to an already almost insurmountable mountain of things to be considered and researched along with iodine.

Vibrant health is NOT this complicated, and it should NEVER invoke stress, anxiety, fear or a feeling that "I'm putting something in my precious body that I don't understand or that I fear" ...and now, if I take too much of it, I may need to research MORE and ingest a bromine supplement - when I THOUGHT I'd learned (quite conclusively) that bromine is bad for health.

If my words resonate with your 'doctor within', great! If they don't, that's good too. I don't have the time (or honestly, the inclination) to enter into further discussion today. My mom has been taking up a lot of our time and energy and our business is suffering dreadfully because of it. I "popped in" for a few minutes to read the latest page, and felt 'led' to write the above - y'all take it from there (if there's anywhere for it to be taken :)

Blessings,

Unyquity
