Re: I am Pregnant with Mirena in place..

dear iudfailed

i live about 45 minutes away from you. im sorry that your iud failed in this way. i only had mine for three months before it came out. i got pregnant exactly four weeks later. i miscarried and i know that the hormones left over from the mirena are the reason why. i sicnerely hope that you can find a dr who will take it out for you asap and that there are no problems in the process. if you need someone to talk to, here is a good place. you can also email me if you like and i will listen as well. im assuming you have tricare? i dont, however, i do know that it can be a pain to get in to see dr's because of stipulations that tricare require. my cousin has tricare and she had an appointment to see the dr a couple weeks ago, got there and was told she couldnt because tricare said she lived in virginia, which she has never lived in virginia. her husband does, but she never has. so she had to fight with them in order to get everything straightened out so she could start the process to get hers taken out as well. we had side effects from it, but for birth control it worked great. for a few different reasons. i have had pelvic pain since mine about two weeks before mine came out. now im on a waiting game to see if it will go away in the next few months, if not i have to get a laporoscopy done to see what is wrong, and depending on what is found, i will face a possible hystorectomy. im only 25, im not ready for the fact that i will never be able to have another child. of course my husband had a vasectomy three months ago, but you never know. im also supposed to be on birth control for a few reasons, one of which is to get my periods under control so that maybe that would help the pain. my dr thinks that if i have a few periods then the pain will go away. after my husband is declared infertile, ill start it, but not before. some dr's make out that this is the best birth control ever and that there are no side effects, no problems, no possible way to get pregnant while using. boy, are they wrong. im glad mine is not like that.
but like i said, if you ever need anyone to talk to, ill be there.

sincerely
traci
