Mega,
she is a physicist (who happened to have studied biology at some
point in her college education) and a very nice one, so I don't
want to insult her! :-) but I was just trying to think of how
to explain what I was telling her so that she could not argue,
and I realized I did not know the mechanism by which the hyper-
thyroid occurs, despite there being a LACK of iodine. It is a
conclusion that is easy to make, for those who are uninformed.
