Social Services should be able to direct you to some outstanding resources as far as counseling goes - it's going to take a while to recover from your physical and emotional trauma, and post traumatic stress will be something that you will want to keep an eye out for.

As for your personal safety, do you have the option of relocating to another state? How about family or friends?
