A comment on the MC and weight loss
I don't think excess weight has to be extreme to be unhealthy. Loss of excess weight is definitely a part of cleansing-- no substance stores toxins like fat!
Remember if you are overweight and losing fat rapidly while fasting that you need to pay special attention to your daily colon cleansing routine and drinking extra water. One of the toxins typically stored in fat is DDT, something you want OUT as quickly as possible!
Another comment on fat. There is recently stored fat, and old stored fat. Ever cut up a chicken? That jelly-like goopy fat is an example of newly stored fat, while the solid stuff is older. Newly stored fat burns easily and quickly, while deposits of solid, old fat can be quite stubborn -- perhaps one reason why it is harder to lose weight as we get older.
While fasting is NOT a magic bullet for weight loss (we really must focus on a sensible diet and exercise program post-fast if we hope to maintain the loss), it can certainly be a great beginning to a new and healthy lifestyle.
AND... DO consider doing a series of liver flushes, hopefully before you begin your fast, and again after recovering from the fast to help establish a strong metabolism to burn fats efficiently.
