Re: Zapping a potato field!!
Hello Ohfor07,
Nice interesting reply you did there, thanks. You raised a few questions here and maybe you can answer some of them...
1) AM Radio Frequencies travelling with the nematode killing frequency:
The potential problem I have with this one is that AM frequencies are way above the nematode killing frequency but if what you say is true regarding the fact that AM frequencies can carry many other frequencies with it then that could change everything.
In other words, my nematode killing frequency would act like a surfer riding on top of the big AM waves so to speak...right?
So even though most
parasites can be killed with frequencies that are much lower (ex: 100 KHz) than the lowest AM frequency (580 KHz), an amateur AM radio antenna could possibly carry the nematode killing frequency with it...correct?
Now that could be very cool because I could kill pretty much all the nematode across the entire city with just one AM Radio Transmission!! WOW!!
Can you take a few seconds here and tell me more about how a smaller frequency can jump on the back of a bigger frequency?
2) AM Frequency power:
Since the AM frequencies can travel accross our house walls, I guess they would carry the nematode killing frequency at least a few feet down the potato field...right?
3) FCC Regulations:
Do you know anything regarding designing such personal amateur radio station?
Do we have the right to build one and transmit from our basement (or a potato field)? This reminds me of the movie "Pump Up The Volume" with Christian Slater. The FCC runs after him :-)
Do we need a specific permit from the FCC to broadcast those frequencies? Again i'm not looking to start a AM Radio Station with my own WKXZ letters and specific AM frequency.
