Re: Zapping a potatoe field!!
Hi #70814
You might want to consider a different method.
The old timers used to use a hand cranked magneto generator, and run from the magneto to metal rods (probes), They would drive these metal rods into the ground a few feet apart and crank the generator by hand. They used this method to catch fishing worms, the current would irritate the worms under the ground, and they would crawl up to the surface of the ground, all they had to do then was to pick up the worms and go fishing.
You can do the same thing with an electrical generator on the back of a pickup truck. By using a gas powered generator on the back of a truck, you would drive the probes in the ground 10 feet apart, depending on how strong you want the current to flow under the ground. Placing the probes closer causes stronger current and could kill the worms with the Amps generated, farther apart will causes a weaker current. Do not stand on the ground to use the generator, sit on the truck bed to run the current underground.
This should kill smaller organisms.
Now you are nematode zapper! maybe :)
