Re: Zapping a potatoe field!!
Excellent response!
There is an old joke which directly illustrates one of the fallacies of philosophical logic (and psychological modelling), called The Logic of the Lamp Post.
A guy is walking home at night, and notices across the street that another guy is crawling around on his hands and knees under a lamp post. So he goes over and asks what is going on. The 2nd guy says, "I dropped my wallet and I'm looking for it." Our hero offers to help, and asks where he was when he noticed his wallet was gone.
"Over there in the alley"
"So, why aren't you looking for it over there?"
"Because the light is much better here."
Beyond substituting the fat end of a screwdriver for a hammer, we tend to use the tools we're familiar with even if they are not a good fit to the job at hand. Around here, folks tend to equate any
parasite problem with an electro-medicine solution, rarely conceding that there is a lot more to the universe and often beating up anyone who does. Without the beating-up part, the same thing could be said about you eschewing Zappers and sticking with farm methods to solve a farming problem - but it's hard to argue against a 100% delta in yeild.
Again, excellent response.
