Good point, but I'm sure apxr is very through! Vinegar is a natural anti-bactericide and anti-fungalcide. Vinegar is 97% effective in killing molds, bacteria, etc.

I did read that sometimes a parasite can exist in an apple cider vinegar batch, but this is rare.
