GENUINE SUPPORT

People who want "only support" and no constructive criticism or responses: this is getting rather old.
Most cleanses (most areas of life, for that matter) have a set of guidelines, warnings, and experts. If a person doesn't make themself fully aware of a procedure, the possible consequences, and familiarize themselves with the viewpoints of people with expertise before embarking headstrong into the cleanse, this is unwise. It is only appropriate that they be warned.

If a chronically constipated person wanted to do a liver flush, would you tell them, "Go right ahead! Go for it!" ? Hopefully you would tell them to do bowel cleansing first.

Would you encourage a person interested in natural sunbathing for vitamin D and the sunshine's benefits, but is pale as a lily, to start sunbathing for 1 hour (in the sun's peak hours) daily? Again, I hope not. The sunbather should start slowly and then build up.

Why would you encourage people who have barely even been jogging before to complete a marathon? It is a noble aspiration, but not to be attempted by novices. This is what you are doing, in essence, in encouraging people with little or no fasting experience to attempt something like fasting 30 days for weight loss! The experts advise against it.

The problem is that people arrive at a place like curezone which is, let's face it, filled with internet strangers. If they happen into a forum like "Water Fasting" and, through a minimal amount of browsing, take the notion to do a big fast for weight loss, they make a post. They get a few responses. Most are "supportive" (Go for it). Yet someone should caution them. They need to be aware (at least have heard the message) that they should do some research, familiarize themselves with the process and its full consequences. They should compare what they are attempting, in a rational manner, with what experts in this field have to say. If not, at least they have been warned, it is now their responsibility. What is a true shame is if these people are not warned.

It seems that "unconditional love" has been confused with genuine support. The parent loves their child unconditionally... yet does not unconditionally support them in all their endeavors, such as if the child decides to become a drug trafficker. They still love the child, but they caution him!

And so it is here. In looking out for the interests of others, people are counseled, warned and guided. This is support in its truest sense, for it does not close a blind eye to the person's actions, while seeking to help the person attain their goals. Supporting the whole person in a long-term perspective.

Naturally, once people have made their decision and proceed on, head-strong, there is not much that can be done. They do not need to be bashed - and they have not been here. But posts of cautions and alternatives, posts which attempt to make others aware of the true nature of fasting, however they are received, are nothing but genuine support!
