Re: the stuff you say

>>>How would you know, a person has to have a sound mind and a pure heart to discern the difference.

>>>A mutual admiration society, that's nice.

And finally you've degraded yourself publicly, shamed the Savior that died for you, and shown your true level of intellect & frustration by hurling sarcasm & insults rather than competently debating the issues. How typical...and how dreadfully and truly sad.

I remember feeling like it appears by your words, that you feel; I remember frustrating and quoting scriptures left & right that didn't answer the asked question; I remember trying to apologize for God (or worse, defend God) because "his" bible just didn't stand up to basic truth and logic. And then I realized it was just 'as written'...put not your faith in men... I hadn't understood (nor could my prideful ego admit) that the bible was compiled & written by men, not God. And for all it's truth, it's inspiration, it's collection of wisdom, and treasured words of Jesus, the living Christ, it was still just bits and pieces, haphazardly thrown together over countless centuries...used by priests, spiritual 'leaders' warriors and evil to browbeat and subdue into submission those that truly have a heart for God, and desire to reflect his powerful light & enduring love.

Jesus himself NEVER sanctified the old testament. He told his followers to trust their heart and to listen to his spirit. He knew there was no way to contain the Almightly Creator in one small book. Those of us that have "truly believed" that the bible is the complete word of God, find it very difficult (if not impossible for some) to admit the error of the beliefs of an entire life...but changing the belief of one's entire life, society, and the religious leaders is exactly what Jesus came to do. And it was the "spiritual", the "holy", the "quoters of scripture", the ones who claimed that they knew the truth...that he criticized with the most harshness and held most accountable for their wrong thinking & actions.

And in his presence and before his words of truth, the scribes and pharisees reacted just as yourself...with sarcasm, insults, cries of "blasphemer" and they killed him...rather than searching and recognizing the truth of his life, and the truth of his words.

My heart goes out to you.
