Let's just shorten the argument. If you meant to say that man's search for joy is a route to death, then that begs the question, "Why does it lead to death?" And every additional answer you can offer will still beg the question, "Why?" And the only "ultimate" (OK, penultimate) answer I can reach is "because God wants you to suffer unless you do exactly as he dictates", and then I get to "Why?" again. Why do (some) "devout" Christians believe in a tyrant as God?
