Call me stupid, but when Jesus told his followers that he was to be crucified, they cried something like "Lord, Lord, who will teach us? who will guide us? what will we do without you?" And he replied that he would send his spirit to our hearts to guide us.

He DIDN'T reply, "well in about 300 years or so, the beginnings of the Roman Catholic church will be trying to figure out 'what is holy & sacred'...and so they'll gather up all the writings of what I said (that have been floating around for 300 years since I died), and they'll put what their egomaniacal, perverted, self-serving selves decide is "holy" into a book, and that will be the New Testament. But until they decide what "the word of God", I guess you're on your own." AND Jesus never once indicated that the old testament was "the word of god".

And I'm thinkin' here...hmmm, if the old testament was the true word of the almighty Creator God and father of Christ; and the new testament was the ultimate/universal word of truth ...don't ya think just maybe, Jesus would have remembered to mention it?!?!
