Hee, hee, seriously my friend, there is no single answer. But if misery loves company I can tell you that through no fault of my own (really), I have been a single mom twice, and it's a drag.
The problem in having a great need is that when we are 'needy', we become a magnet for all sorts of types that we find in the long run we don't want anyway. Then we get caught up in one after the other over and over. It's very obvious that last person was not for you at all, and don't let ANYONE tell you that what you are looking for is not around or that you should change your outlook. Please.
I can't tell you how to overcome the feelings of loneliness and I won't give you cliche answers about reading, excercising, etc. You already know that. But I can tell you that this is a time that you can take to do some serious thinkingwhileyouarealone, and practice acute observation. Look around you, look at women but not just from the usual; hmnn, good legs, etc. Take a realistic good look at different behaviours, patterns, attitudes, principles, values, etc. Which seem to fit in with your belief systems, life styles?
In short, what do you really like and what do you really think would fit into your life. Whom, or better said what kind of woman do you think you could make very happy? What qualities. These are things you need to be focusing on as you get to know yourself better. You will never know who's right until you know what it is YOU're all about.
You sound to me like a really nice guy, and it's very sad that your marriage didn't work out, but bettter take a long time than make another disastrous mistake. You probably still need some healing of your emotions anyway.
The waiting can be discouraging at times, but never let it be. The best results do take time, and in the meantime, you have a precious child that can take all the love and dedication you can offer her. This is a wonderful learning and growing phase in your life. Use it well. If you take the time, it will all be worth it in the end. I promise you!
