Yes the state of Australian Aboriginal culture both urban and outback is very sad. In the outback the culture is well and truly alive, as it is in the city in some cases, but being eroded by petrol sniffing, drugs and alcoholism. I am not an expert on it all, but from where I see it, the invaders(of which I am one!) have systematically and ruthlessly stolen the faith these people have in their families and culture. Every value they shared has been spat upon by the capitalistic machine of western culture. The state of health of Aboroginies in the outback is equal to the worst in many 3rd world countries, I can only imagine that this is reflected spiritually as well. I used to have a yoga teacher who was aware of many of the powers Aboriginal people had, I don't know a lot about it, but I hope this spirituality lives on.
