Old medical books

Hi MH,

Thanks for all of your helpful informatin. I am interested in reading old medical books, but am having trouble finding them. I found some sites that sell them, but there is not much info about the books themselves other than the title and author. How do we know which authors are worthwhile reading if we can't see the table of contents? How do we know which of them had a good cure rate? The authors names I saw were all unfamiliar with me. Where would we get started doing such research?
