The conspiracies I mentioned were for example AIDS denialism, not Liver Flushing (which is not a serious problem since it is pretty nonsensical). The AIDS denialims movement has a significant influence in delaying provision of HAART to South Africans - hence leading to thousands of unnecessary deaths.
