keeping on track

Everybody's different. Some people get pumped up in rallies, others by doing some kind of missionary work, etc. Personally, what keeps me on track is to keep my nose in the Word. Keeping in the word keeps me in step with the Holy Spirit, because God will never contradict his Word.

Contracts and confessions to other people may help you focus on problem areas, but only the Spirit can change your heart. I am accountable to God and no one else. Yes, believers are accountable to the church, but only as far as the church is in obedience to God.

Contracts are external and legalistic. Why would I need a contract to motivate me when I should be filled with love and gratitude to Jesus and obey him because of that? The need for a contract exposes a lack of love for the Savior. Confession at least lets other believers share our burdens and pray for us.
