Thanks, Toonces (but now I have to go look up 'astute'!).
I've been in fundamental, Bible-honoring churches all my life, but there has always been an appalling lack of discernment on the part of church leadership. They swallow every 'movement' that comes down the pike and whip the congregation into a frenzy over it. I tried to question one pastor about PK, and he admitted begin concerned about it, but he never went public with his 'concerns'. Isn't it the responsibility of church leaders to watch over the flock instead of feeding it to the wolves? Are they so busy preparing 3-point alliterated sermons that they can't see the forest for the trees? These days, I would rather trust a well-read layman than a seminary grad.
It never ceases to amaze me how even the most experienced and studied pastors don't even want to hear anything negative about a given program. I just keep praying that I never become so close-minded or enamored with my own 'maturity' to block out the voice of the Holy Spirit. "To whom much is given, from the same shall much be required" (Luke 12:48).
