The truth will set you free
Hi Ready2Rapture,
Thank you for taking a courageous and faithful stand for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
God is love. He loved us so much that He sent His Son to live a perfect life and to die on the cross to fulfill the demands of the law on our behalf. He sends His Holy Spirit to His children. His children are called to proclaim the Gospel and to refute error. If we don’t know the Gospel, we can’t refute error. Most Christians understand what the Gospel is, but they don’t always understand what it isn’t. Please read the link below for an excellent explanation of what the Gospel is and isn’t.
Truth is not easy to find. Truth can only be measured with the Bible as standard. It can never be measured by the number of people in a church, movement, or event. It cannot be measured simply by feelings, philosophy, or human wisdom. There is great danger in trying to understand the Scriptures in light of our experiences. We should not interpret the Bible in light of our experiences, rather we must examine our experiences in light of the Scriptures.
"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. Mt 7:15
I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Mt 10:16
Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me-- just as the Father knows me and I know the Father--and I lay down my life for the sheep. John 10:7-15
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Eph 6:12
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 1 Pe 5:8-9
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve. 2 Co 11:14-15
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
2 Co 4:4-6
Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel! 1 Co 9:16
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
John 8:31-32
