I like to think of general acidity one of the manifestations of disease (you can still lead a happy life even by eating an acidic SAD diet your whole life, its more about your body’s ability to regulate your pH).

As it has been said here before the onset of illness is more likely due to toxin accumulation in the body and nutritional deficiencies - disease is “typically” gradual process and can’t be viewed as a chicken and egg dilemma (although chicken and egg dilemma was also gradual process).

Living in today’s world and following the general conception of what FDA type systems agree on, you will be likely to accumulate quite a bit of toxins from your diet, and general environment – from deadly dental work, to harmful chemicals in your food and personal care “everyone” has its own cocktail of toxins in themselves. Adding nutritional deficiencies that go along with average diet, you are setting yourself for disease. As your elimination channels become overwhelmed with toxins and as your body is begging for critical nutrients that can’t find in the standard diet, you are weakening your body’s defenses to a whole range of pathogens. (bearing in mind that a lot of disease emerge from toxic body itself/and or nutritionally deficient, no pathogens even required, although it goes along).

Again this is a gradual process and your body will fight day and night to prevent from getting into this vicious chronic disease cycle that so many people are getting into today. But being continuously exposed to toxins and nutritionally deficient (and add digestive issues and inability to properly absorb nutrients to that), a lot of people fall into that trap.
Yes, acidity typically arises with a toxin plugged body and emerges with many diseases but that is mostly due to your body’s inability to regulate your pH. And yes providing nutrients (trace minerals especially), will provide important nutrition and aid your system in regulating the pH (although it is only one factor in your body’s attempt to come back to health, and yes important one too).

There are many people out there eating and drinking “acidic” junk and yet their bodies are magnificent in maintaining pH balance, given that their minimal nutritional requirements are met and their elimination channels are not completely plugged or their immune system isn’t constantly fighting toxins or pathogens day and night.

Again, although acidity typically arises with many diseases, it is not the cause of diseases, the true cause is nutritional deficiencies along with toxin accumulation and blocked elimination channels.
By drinking a nice cocktail of lemon juice and whatever you want to throw in it, you are tackling nutritional deficiencies (although many people skip a level and say they are really tackling acidity, whatever floats their boat).

Saying acidity causes all diseases can be tricky because if I dump my body with tons of acid forming foods (like so many Americans do) I won’t immediately get all kinds of diseases in me – it’s the gradual accumulation of toxins and nutritional deficiencies rising from that food that brings me to acidic environment (aka body’s inability to balance pH).
