Yup, you are right Grog. I can see that some will never be able to stop the heroin or morphine, and when they DO run out they would be better off on methadone.
it is the onmly alternative really.

I am still a bit stuck on this - why take them off of it if they can't get off of it? - as in, give them free heroin and a clean safe place to shoot it and they might well live well , for many years.
But that could be the addict talking!![me]

As things are now, methadone is a viable way to stop heroin. But I did hear it is harder to stop - weaning down should take care of that, and I didn't hear that part from addcits yet, so they are just not willing to wean down I bet!

Oh gosh it is hard man.
