These stats do not take into account the fact that most of these deaths are a result of polysubstance abuse, and not from people taking only their prescribed dosage of Methadone. In most cases you will find evidence of the victims using benzos and/or alcohol in combination with Methadone, but somehow that never makes it into the newspaper reports, does it?
