The problem with that is using short acting opiods (heroin) you will always have a growing tolerance. With methadone, you find your dose, and that is it! The withdrawls are not worse, they are merely longer. This however with propper taper actually makes it easier to get off than heroin. I willexplain more if that doesn't make sense.
