I hear ya. I've been there. When I first became ill I went to see an infectious disease specialist who proceeded to tell me that intestinal candida infection doesn't exist and when I insisted I have this condition, he called in one of his colleagues to try to help convince me further that it can't happen. I left there thinking "these are supposed to be brilliant doctors and they don't know jack shit" Not to mention the compassion factor was null and void. Thank goodness for my family doctor who IS willing to entertain the idea that this can exist and will prescribe diflucan for me when things just get to be unbearable.
