Re: What if you can't find/afford organic? PLS help!
Hi Marnie
I'e been raw for about a year and a half, and still only eat organic occasionally. I can't afford it, so I do the best I can, by washing my veggies. I know that this doesn't take care of any of the toxins that are *in* the fruits and vegatables (from the soil and chemicals added to it) but it really helps. And take it from someone who doesn't do organic - the health benefits from going raw are still immeasurable!
This next summer I'm going to grow a lot of things myself, and dehydrate them, so I have some nice, organic produce to get me through the winter, supplemented with regular old supermarket stuff.
I think your idea of dehydrating fruit for your kids is a good one- it'll make the fruit seem like a treat. Kids also go nuts over smoothies - my kids absolutely love fresh fruit smoothies and will pass up traditional breakfasts any day to get one.
Good luck on your raw journey!
Joanne
