How I wash my fruits & vegetables.
Dear Marnie,
Pepe gave you very good advice. I
hope you'll incorporate it into your
eating-regimen.
Here's how I wash my fruit and
veggies, whether they're organic or
not:
Begin with a large bowl or pan.
Put in the items you want to wash.
Then add several
ounces of White
Vinegar. I buy mine at Costco. It
comes in big plastic jugs. After
that, add a squirt or two of lemon
juice. Your can use RealLemon for
washing. Again, I buy it cheap at
Costco.
Then cover the fruits or veggies
with clean water. Stir everything
together. Let it soak for about 10
minutes. Next, use a gentle brush to
clean the surface of each piece of food. Then drain the food and
dry it.
I've been doing that for years, Marni, and it seems to eliminate
whatever toxins are on the surface
of the foods. Give it a try.
Congratulations on the major
changes you've made in your lifestyle. I don't think you'll
ever regret it.
Blessings,
