It has always been my thought that we should stand up for what we believe in and not hide behind a number when we want to debate. It looks cowardly and really passive aggressive in my opinion. At least Trapper doesn't do that. I will say that. I had rather know where a person stands on all issues....even issues that I don't agree on, than hide them. How would we ever learn to work out our differences or agree to disagree if we are not truthful with our own selves first and then others?
But the biggest thing to overcome is to not be offended. We all have our buttons...or weak areas where we doubt ourselves. Those are the places we really need to ask God to help us get in touch with and deal with our fears and hurts, so we don't pass them on to other people accidentally in our debates or any disagreement we may have with family or friends. Some people have very deep hurts that are harder to get to. So I know it's not always so easy as I'm making sound to be. However, it is each person's duty to at least try and find wholeness. Starting with accepting Jesus into our lives is the greatest first step. We need the Holy Spirit to help us, when we can't take the untruths...or even the truths from the mouths of other people.
Merry Christmas Tansybelle. Much love is sent your way in this blessed season of joy. No humbug here. :)
