Written response by Rainy....

I am well aware of Jim Bakker's past. He wrote a book about it called I was Wrong which I have read. The great thing about being a Christian is that God forgives us and uses our mistakes to build us and make us into the kind of person he wants us to be.

Jim Bakker is not the same person that he was back then. Paul the Apostle had a past too, but he went on to forget his past and he became a mighty man of God. The Lord used him to write much of the New Testament.

The blood of Jesus was strong enough to wash away the sins of Jim Bakker as he cried out to him. The Lord wants us to forget our pasts and press on into the callings he has for us.

The Lord can use people with a past in a mighty way. It is experiences from our pasts that have caused us to learn many valuable lessons. Many times those who have horrific pasts such as that of Jim Bakker can walk in a level of humility that those who have made few mistakes could dream of. God removes the transgressions of our pasts from us as far as the east is from the west. We cannot even comprehend such mercy. The least those of us with pasts can do for the Lord is forget our pasts even as Paul did and then go on to serve and obey God as he wants us to.

Consider the following scripture. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12
