Re: Post written by Rainy. Important Information.

The efficacy of Jesus' blood to wash our sins away is not in question. The sincerity of at least some 'televangelists' is. When Jim Swaggart was caught with his pants down yet again after his 'tearful' public confession, his only defence was 'none of your damned business', or words to that effect. Doesn't exactly smack of Christian humility, does it?

Yes, we all have a past, and we all stumble. We need constant forgiveness for our failings, except for trapper of course, who apparently leads a sinless life. But at least one major difference between St. Paul and Jim Bakker is that the former did not dishonour his faith after his conversion. To fail in your personal relationship with your Lord is one thing. To bring almost universal opprobrium on His name is quite another.

That's not to say that even the likes of Jim Bakker are beyond redemption. Of course not. What kind of sacrifice would it be if it was so constrained in its efficacy? But when it comes to 're-engaging' with the Christian public, I simply advise extreme caution. I know you don't like that Rainy, but you are the one risking being burned a second time by potentially placing too much reliance on him as a source of truth.
