Funny you should ask vekky. The crop this yr would have been exceptional, if only I'd taken protective countermeasures last autumn. The delicate blossom (which, btw, has the most amazing fragrance, unlike trapper's droppings) doesn't survive most of our winters, so unfortunately no fruit this year. Loquat trees, in case you didn't know, flower in autumn as a rule, not in the spring.
But this yr I'll be taking some protective measures against the frost or snowfalls, etc., so we'll be looking fwd to a bumper crop in 2018. Similar problem with the figs this year. Late May frosts decimated around 80% of my crop, so only around 50-60 managed to ripen. Still fantastic flavours though.
