Re: Are there any healthy sugars?
I forgot to add, I used to use stevial drops, but they are heavily processed and quite nasty. I have tried natural organic stevia powder, which tastes very green like grass or hemp powder, but so far I'm the only one who can tolerate it. I guess I like that it has zero carbs, zero cals and can maintain you in ketosis even it you have it.
Just touching up on fruits.
Some are better than others and actually stabilise blood sugar, such as pawpaw, pineapple, kiwi, sour cherries, blue berries, sour green apples, lemon, and many others which have a lower
Sugar content.
The ones to have less of or monitor and can play around with blood
Sugar are;
Banana, watermelon, dates (which many people use instead if
Sugar in baking and dishes)
Can't think right now of more lol. Oh and oranges, nectarines, some pears.
I do use fruit in cooking, of I have a curry that needs to be sweeter, I would avoid heating any sweetener, as it essentially processes and concentrates it making it enter bloodstream faster - but I would use any fruit, saltanas, date, mango, young coconut, even banana in my curry! It comes out exceptional - very Fiji.
